Sitges has excellent transport connections, locally and nationally with fast road and rail links, as well as convenient international access through three regional airports (Barcelona El Prat; Girona and Reus) and the ports.

Getting to Sitges From Barcelona Airport (El Prat)

Taxis

There are plenty of black and yellow taxis in Barcelona airports ranks, and depending what time of day you arrive a taxi to Sitges will cost you between €65.00-€90.00

Drivers will often apply surcharges for luggage or the time of day if outside normal business hours (this is normal) and you will probably also be asked if you want to take the ‘autovia‘ – a toll road which is much quicker, but will add around €12.00 extra to your fare, as you will be expected to cover the taxis’ costs both ways.

Public Transport to Sitges

From El Prat airport the cheapest option to get to Sitges from the airport is by public transport. The airport is well connected with a train terminal in Terminal 2 (T2) opposite Section B and with a bus terminal operating out of Terminal 1 (T1)

A free shuttle bus service runs between T1 and T2 every few minutes and takes a little less than 20 minutes (look for the T1-> T2 signs from the arrivals area)

Trains from Barcelona Airport to Sitges

The airport train terminal is located opposite section’B‘ of T1 and is accessed using a covered pedestrian bridge over the road, from the first floor near the check-in desks.

T1 is the end of the line, and trains run from there directly to the centre of Barcelona. There is no direct train to Sitges, so you will need to change at El Prat De Llobregat (the first stop, around 5 minutes from the airport) and change there for a Sitges train.

Buses from the Barcelona El Prat Airport to Sitges

The airport bus terminal is located at T1. If you arrive in T2 you will need to get the free airport shuttle. From here the ‘Monbus‘ service will take you to Sitges you can find the timetable here. A single fare is currently €4.00

Transport from Sitges from Barcelona

It is easy and cheap to get to Sitges from Barcelona by trainTrains from Barcelona to Sitges

The easiest, cheapest and often quickest way to get to Sitges from Barcelona is by train. The R2 line starts in Estació de França, then passes through Passeig De Gracia and Sants before heading out of the city. Trains leave roughly every 20 minutes (timetable here)and take 35 – 50 minutes.

Towards the end of the day the trains go once an hour, and the last train out of Barcelona to Sitges out of Barcelona leaves Passeig de Gracia just before midnight. For public transport after this time – please see the note on ‘night buses’

How to get to Sitges by Bus from Barcelona

The daytime bus service from Barcelona to Sitges is run by Monbus (and is the same service that connects Sitges with El Prat airport) Buses depart from Ronda Universitat and Plaça Espanya and take around an hour to get to Sitges. The last buses leave before midnight (22:20 / 23:20 depending on the day) Click here for timetables

Nightbuses from Barcelona to Sitges

After midnight the only public transport to Sitges from Barcelona is ‘night bus’ which takes around 40 minutes to get to Sitges. Buses depart from a stop just off Plaça Catalunya – for details check the link from the Monbus website
