Sitges Corpus Christi Flower CarpetsCome to Sitges for Corpus Christi 2014 and enjoy the enormous colourful flower carpets – a tradition which dates back over 120 years, and a unique celebration which was recently recognised as the first Festival of Artistic Interest and a Festival of National Tourist Interest.

Streets throughout the center of Sitges are closed to traffic the night before so that teams of dedicated volunteers can deck the walkways and roads in carnation petals and leaves to create beautiful fragrant carpet designs. This is a particularly great day to visit Sitges, relax, wander around and smell the flowers!

Carnation Carnage

With over a hundred and fifty thousand carnations used last year this traditional celebration needs a lot of work behind the scenes, and brings residents of all ages together to bring the designs to life.Sitges Floral Balcony

Who will win the coveted prize for the most beautiful, imaginative and captivating designs of Corpus Christi 2014? Who knows – why not come and judge for yourself!

Dancing Giants

The festival climaxes with an evening procession of the ‘Gegantes‘ – the Giant Kings and Queens of Sitges, who reel and spin over the millions of petals as they dance to the music of the traditional Catalan bands which escort them through Sitges streets.
